Action Renewables/SMALLEST project; recent visit to the brites CHP and Pellet Mill  Action Renewables is currently involved in a European funded INTERREG project called SMALLEST. SMALLEST aims to provide a support service for rural communities across the northern periphery area of Europe, helping them develop renewable energy projects.
Just before Christmas, Action Renewables hosted a meeting in Fermanagh for their European partners and visited a number of locations showcasing successful renewable schemes. Attendees of the SMALLEST project had the opportunity to visit Balcas and see the inner workings of the Combined Heat and Power Plant and the process of converting raw material, in the form of sawdust, into brites in the Pellet Mill. | "The hotel has made considerable savings since changing over to brites.
