Our Experience

As the market leader Balcas has for years driven advancements in the industry, from the Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme to ENplus in order to distinguish between products of varying degrees and therefore grow confidence for wood pellet usage. What matters is the specification that a supplier will guarantee (and the substance of that guarantee). ENplus requires regular and thorough external auditing as part of achieving certification, samples are consistently taken in accordance with regulations and this proves that the pellet fuel is without fail making targets and falling into parameters, providing long term peace of mind to customers.

One unique selling point for brites is the fact that not only is the fuel carbon neutral, but it is created using renewable energy. Balcas’ Combined heat and power plants are fuelled on wood in the form of residues left over from local timber milling processes unlike other companies which use carbon intensive fossil fuels to manufacture. The chip and sawdust used to make brites are completely renewable and also carbon neutral, as the same carbon released from using the residue in the CHP plants is the same as it offset during its lifespan as a tree. brites have the lowest associated CO2 compared against any other pellets available in the UK and Irish market.

With industry experts highlighting the increase in demand for wood pellets it is becoming more essential for customers to align themselves with a supplier who can meet their requirements in the short and long run. Involved in timber since the 1960’s Balcas has developed long term supply contracts and partnerships with Government and privately owned woodlands, ensuring guarantees can be given to customers to supply them fuel for the life span of a boiler (20 years).

With more experience in terms of years, quantities supplied and locations supplied to than any other manufacturer or supplier in the UK and Ireland it is without doubt that the teams of customer and technical support in brites have a combined wealth of knowledge unrivalled in any other company. Dedicated members of Technical Support and also Technical Officers stand ready to assist in any matter related to a customers’ wood pellet system or fuel.

  • Balcas is the UK and Ireland’s largest manufacturer and supplier of quality wood pellets, branded brites,
  • Balcas have 3,500 domestic clients and more than 250 commercial clients. Consumers range from small domestic residencies to large industrial clients.
